How to pick stocks and shares in five easy steps

Here is the scenario we are trying to address: You have some money to spend and you decided to buy some stocks and shares. At present, you have no ambition to trade frequently. You are trying to find some decent stocks that you hope you can keep a bit longer. However, the question is: Which stock do you buy, and when do you buy it?

This tutorial is designed to help you learn how to use the right tools if you are facing these sorts of questions.

Our ambition is to show you how to use Excel to download live data from a stock exchange and after that how to create some useful graphs using the charting options in Excel. This is combined with one or two of the most elementary statistical tools that should not scare anyone.
